Status after Doctor Appointments

First, I saw Dr. W yesterday morning.  He looked inside my bladder with some scope and all looks well.  He’s ordered another test for next Monday where they put a catheter in me, fill my bladder to the rim, and have me move around and watch how my bladder expels, etc.  The whole thing will take [...]

Urologist Appointment Today, Wednesday, 7/2/08

From the beginning, this urology thing doesn’t seem right.  Someone was supposed to call me Friday to make an appointment with me for the week of July 7th, next week. While I really like the Neurosurgeon and her Resident doctor, the nurse, Ron, leaves something to be desired. Ron seems very full of himself.  He [...]

Follow-up Appointment-Neck Operation

Doctor confirmed I’m healing fine. He’s still a bit perplexed by all my numbness.  I am, too.  I do believe there’s something pinching somewhere that is causing me all this pain and discomfort.  It’s going to take time and patience to see how much of this will go away.  Still, it’s difficult to sit back [...]

Good News and Bad News

Dr. D said she had good and bad news.  The good news was that my left shoulder didn’t show plasmacytoma’s (which I still think I do–will explain later) and the bad news is that I have some pretty bad osteostenosis (?) going on.  There’s a crack in a vertebrate or disc, the 5th one, whatever, [...]

Capsule Endoscopy

This procedure was ordered to check my upper intestines, to see if  I’m losing any blood which is making me low on iron, anemic, and very fatigued.  Ive just recalled that when I was first sick, being discharged from the hospital but not aware I had MM, the infectious disease doctor told me I was [...]

Doctor Appointment - 2/21/08

M-spike went up from 0.69 on 11/14/07  to 1.04 on 2/13/08.  Dr. D says she’s not too excited yet and won’t put me on any treatment for an increased M-spike alone.
However, she’s pretty sure my left shoulder has got those plasmacytoma’s (myeloma tumors), so she’s having me have an MRI on it to confirm.  She [...]

Appointment-2/13/08-Aredia

Today I turned in my 24-hour urine collection, blood drawn, and received my 2-hour Aredia treatment.  Nothing eventful and no further information obtained relating to my symptoms.
I do notice my right shoulder has a boney thing sticking up and it’s more pronounced.  This could be from losing muscle or fat or it could be growing.  [...]

After the Colonoscopy

Hoorah!  It’s overrrr!  I can eat, drink, and be merry!
As usual, my faithful sister Joy took me to do the dirty deed.  It was a good excuse to get together as she took me to all my initial doctor visits and treatments.  I get emotional when I’m alone and think of these times with her.  [...]

The New Doctor

Yesterday I had my first appointment with Dr. Deauna (Dr. D.).  She’s a middle-aged Philippine doctor, extremely busy but seems very intelligent.  She specializes in Multiple Myeloma and Lymphoma which is good.  I met her nurse assistant, “Cindy” and she seems very good and personable.  I was a tad bit intimidated with Dr. D., but [...]

Doctor Appointment, 12/12/07

Here’s my factual doctor appointment entry.
Saw Nurse Practioner, Jan, today.  No labs or anything else was done.  Jan talked to Dr. McGuirk just before she saw me and they are going to have me start seeing Dr. Deauna, who is the Myeloma specialist doctor.
Will cancel the 2008 Physical Therapy (PT) appointments scheduled at [...]
